About
AWC South Florida

The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) is a professional organization championing the advancement of women across all communications disciplines by recognizing excellence, promoting leadership and positioning its members at the forefront of the evolving communications areas.

Modern communicators must demonstrate competence in a wide variety of functions and be able to network in order to make career moves across the broad spectrum of communications fields. AWC aids its members in both professional development and networking.

Our local chapter is comprised of communications professionals from across South Florida. Career fields represented include: public relations, marketing, nonprofit and community relations, copywriting/speechwriting, print and broadcast journalism, television and radio production, event planning, film, advertising, marketing, graphic design, website editing, and photography. The list is continually growing as the profession expands into the newer media.

While we welcome guests at a majority of our functions, we encourage communication professionals to join in order to receive the many benefits and professional networking opportunities that AWC provides its membership. Click here for details about becoming a member.

Our AWC chapter is governed by a board of directors. Click here for a listing of the current board members.
